A beautiful lake at the foot of the beautiful stretches of the Apuseni Mountains, Alba County, Romania. But behind the beauty, there is a melancholy story.
Previously, Geamana, known as a village located in the hills. Geamana known as the area is very fertile and rich in minerals. Therefore, in 1977, when the Romanian leader, Nicolae Ceauescu, decided to open Roia Poieni, the largest copper mine in Europe.
However, Gemana not have sufficient environmental capacity for mineral mining giant. As a result, the mine water reservoirs overflow and contaminate the water in villages with toxic substances derived from refined copper. Over time, water cesspool of rising mine that forced people to migrate from their place of residence.

Victor tells, they had offered to move out of the replacement cost Geamana. But, the couple argued that the amount offered is too low so they survive. Victor himself has worked for 15 years in Roia Poieni, before it finally closed.
