(The story about the Aceh American Students)

In Iboih I found a giant swimming pool. I can swim with ornamental fish and see jellyfish and starfish. There I met transvestite fish.

My name is Will Hoover. I was a student at Oberlin College Geology Department, Chicago, USA. Early February vacation I had a chance to Aceh. All of that would not happen without the information from my friend who served in Aceh since the last few months. His name is Tino. This time he served as a teacher training college lecturer in Kuala University. After hearing interesting stories about Aceh from Tino, I feel like I can not wait to visit the Aceh.

Although only briefly in Aceh, I love the atmosphere here. Warm and pleasant society. Food-the food is good and the scenery was nice. The most impressive thing for me is the experience of hearing the call to prayer five times a day to encourage Muslims to worship. It became one of the clock while I was in Aceh. Because voice can be heard from anywhere. I also do not need to watch the clock. While in Aceh I visited some beautiful places, such as waterfalls Lhong, Lampuuk beach, and of course Sabang.

Lhong waterfall is really impressive. The water comes from mountain climbing is very cool. The water is green and is frequented by people. As I and Tino to it, a number of children were seen swimming happily. A number of residents we encountered too much to tell about the tsunami and the conflict in Aceh.

In Aceh, I never stay in one place. I kept going from one beach to another beach, to restaurants, coffee shops, and other tourist attractions, do not miss Baiturrahman Mosque.
Stalls here sell food at cheap prices. I can eat foods with typical Indonesian dishes, such as vegetables, tempeh, fish, or meat. Here almost every block I go through a lot of coffee shops and food stalls. Foods commonly sold already cooked since morning. Rarely there are stalls that sell cooked food when ordered.

Coffee shop here is very big. Because the majority of Muslims here, so there is no bar so that the people making the coffee shop to meet up with their friends. Uniquely in every coffee shop that I always find a long line of motorcycles. I noticed that the people there are generally riding motorcycles as primary transportation. Sometimes to be seen jostling. The motorcycle ridden by mother, father, and their children.

Together with Tino I also visited Pulau Weh. The most northern tip of the island in Indonesia. The beaches on this island is known as a wonderful place for diving and snorkeling. We spent three days on the island of Weh.To get there we had to cross by ferry for 2.5 hours through Banda Aceh's Ulee Lheue. Ship then docked at the Port Balohan, Sabang. Up in Sabang, we chose to stay at Iboih. When I got there the sun had sunk. Some days there we found the beautiful scenery in the bay every sunset.
In Iboih we also hiked to the waterfall area is overgrown with tropical trees. We also came to the hot springs on the southern coast. However, his condition seemed not well maintained, and not as we imagine because apparently had flowed into the pool.

It did not swim in the hot springs, we finally decided to move on and up in the monument Kilometer Zero. From this location the scenery was beautiful. From a distance looks blue Indian Ocean.
On the way back to Iboih, we followed the beautiful white sand beaches. We also saw a lot of swings hanging in the trees that shade. On the beach we saw small crabs in the sand beach while the warm sun drenched busy.

Of Iboih we went to Island Rubih for air-snokeling. Here I found the scenery magnificent. For many never snokeling I found a beautiful underwater scenery like in Rubiah. I was fascinated by the diversity of ornamental fish are colorful.Usually I just see scenery like this in the aquarium, and of course I can not swim free with the fish, only watched from behind the walls of the cornea.
I favored one type of fish deep purple, with a blue back and belly, fins pink, yellow lips, and eyebrows are light green. I call it "fish transsexual".

Standing snokeling here I also notice a luminous jellyfish, marine biota purple and green, and baby sea stars are blue. If not for the fear stung by a jellyfish, I definitely want to be under the sea forever. After three days in Pulau Weh, I and Tino back to Banda Aceh. After that I returned to the States and Tino remain in Aceh. []
